Blooms In Gouache 1 & 2 - The Printable Collection by Morning Dewdrops

How To Use Blooms in Gouache 1 & 2 by Morning Dewdrops

There’s something tender and timeless about painting flowers. Maybe it’s because you can paint every bloom the way you'd like or maybe it’s because they remind us of slow mornings, porch breezes, and the calm rhythm of nature.

Gouache is one of my favorite mediums — creamy, velvety, and forgiving in all the right ways. It allows color to sit proudly on the page, but still soft enough to feel hand-touched and intimate. I created the Gouache Mixture with DIY Paint.  Let me know if you want the recipe.

The colors are so bold and bright; that's because Gouache (while using more pigment than water) are naturally opaque.

That’s how Blooms in Gouache 1 & 2 came to life — a pair of printable collections created for makers, journalers, collage artists, and anyone who loves sprinkling a little beauty into the everyday. These flowers are simple, joyful, and wonderfully versatile. You can tuck them into junk journals, print them as embellishments for handmade cards, create tags and labels, or use them as focal pieces in art journaling. They print beautifully at full size or in any of the multiple size in the PDF -- all the way to tiny accents and layered collage work.

Want to brighten a journal spread? Print a bloom. Need a sweet embellishment for a gift? Print a bloom. Feeling inspired to make a quick bookmark or note card? Yep — print a bloom. Your creativity becomes the gardener, and these gouache blooms are simply waiting to be picked.

Both sets pair together like good Southern neighbors — each one delightful on its own, but even sweeter when they’re side by side. They keep that handmade, down-to-earth feel, even when printed at home. And because they’re high-resolution gouache scans, the soft texture and layered brushwork stay intact, giving your projects that true painted charm.

I hope this collection brings joy to your creative table. Whether you use them for journaling, scrapbooking, collaging, or simply to brighten your day, may these little blooms inspire a moment of calm and creativity — the same feeling I had while painting them.

Thanks for walking through the garden with me.
